Almost Songs is a project dedicated to celebrating and reimagining rare and unfinished tracks from The Beatles' later years. The initiative brings these hidden gems to life through live performances, immersive storytelling, and modern arrangements.

Background

In the 1970s, approximately 150 hours of The Beatles' rehearsal tapes, recorded during the "Get Back" sessions, were stolen. Decades later, these tapes were recovered, revealing a treasure trove of abandoned and unfinished songs. Almost Songs honors these works by presenting them in a fresh and engaging format.

Live Performances

The project offers live shows featuring an ever-changing lineup that performs these rare tracks with new arrangements. The performances are complemented by storytelling that delves into the history of the stolen tapes and their recovery. Additional enhancements, such as Q&A sessions with key figures involved in the tapes' recovery, expanded musical ensembles, and immersive visual presentations, are also available.

Music Releases

Elvis Orbison, a key contributor to the project, has released one album titled "Almost Beatles Songs Vol. 1" and another free mixtape "Vol. 2," which reinterpret these rare tracks. These albums are available for streaming on platforms like Spotify and Bandcamp.

Online Presence

The project maintains an active online presence, sharing content and updates through their website, social media and YouTube channel. These platforms feature videos, full album streams, and behind-the-scenes insights into the project's development.

‘almost songs’ is made up of dedicated musicians, vocalists, and creatives who bring these rare and nearly lost works to life, offering audiences a fresh way to experience the music of the greatest band in history.

But this journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Some of our members recently faced unimaginable hardship when the Altadena fire forced them to evacuate their homes - a few even losing everything. Despite this, they’ve continued to pour their energy and talent into this project, proving that music isn’t just an art form—it’s a refuge, a source of strength, and a way to rebuild.

We believe in the power of music to connect, heal, and inspire. Through ‘almost songs’, we are not just reviving unfinished Beatles music; we are sharing our own stories of resilience and dedication. This project is about the magic of what could have been and the beauty of what still can be.

Thank you for being part of our journey.
